Install and use MetaMask
Metamask is one of the most important tools in the Ethereum (ETH) ecosystem, as it is the main decentralized wallet within it. However, it can be difficult to get used to it when you're just starting out. That's why we will explain to you how to install your MetaMask wallet.
What is MetaMask?
MetaMask is a cryptocurrency wallet available on mobile (iOS and Android) and you will need a browser (Chrome, FireFox, Edge and Brave). With this wallet, you can interact with all compatible blockchains. With this web extension, you can:
Store and trade Ether (ETH) and ERC-20 tokens.
Interacting with smart contracts and decentralised applications (dApps) on the Ethereum blockchain.
Installation of the MetaMask application
The installation is not very complicated. You just have to search in your browser's extension library and add it, which can be done through the official Metamask website: https://metamask.io. The application is available for Chrome, FireFox, Brave, Edge but also as a mobile application for Android and iOS.
Then you have to follow the instructions.
Creating a MetaMask account
Click on the "Create a portfolio" choice
MetaMask asks for your consent to collect your data. This is an optional choice, so you can refuse or accept freely.
Set your password to at least 8 characters and save it carefully
Then check the terms of use box and click on the "Create" button.
Finally, MetaMask will ask you to save a 12-word recovery phrase. This phrase will allow you to recover your funds if your device is broken, lost or stolen.
Please be sure to keep this phrase safe. This phrase gives you full access to the funds in your MetaMask account. NEVER SHARE IT!
Receiving ETH on your wallet
After creating an account, you should find yourself on the main MetaMask page. By default, the wallet displays the "Ethereum Core Network". So you are on the standard wallet configuration. To buy/sell TooneyChain NFTs, you don't need to change the network.
However, to be able to interact with the blockchain, you need to add ETH to your wallet and thus be able to pay the various network fees. To do this, you need to :
MetaMask offers the possibility of purchasing them through a third party provider. This option is accessible by clicking on the "Buy" button.
or
Click on "Buy" and then copy and paste the ETH address from your Wallet.
Then go to your favourite exchange (Binance,Kucoin,FTX...) and send your ETH to the address you just copied.
Wait for the transaction to take place, and then you can interact with the ETH blockchain via your Metamask wallet.
